Sneak Peek at Megan D. Martin's Southern Daughter

As Carrie Ann Wallace looked out across the rolling fields of cotton, she knew life would never be the same. Her cheek still stung where her daddy had slapped her hours before. It was still red too. She could tell from her reflection in the glass, a reflection she had been ignoring all afternoon, though she couldn’t bring herself to move away from the only window in her room. The winding dirt path that cut down the center of the fertile field was empty.Not for long. Her daddy would come back soon. She knew he would. There was no stopping him when he had his mind set on something … and by then it would be too late.
